Morning
Study It – Noah and the Flood, Genesis 6:9-9:29
Act 1 – On Monday and Thursday read: Genesis 6:9 – 7:24.
Act 2 – On Tuesday and Friday read: Genesis 8:1-19.
Act 3 – On Wednesday and Weekend read: Genesis 8:20 – 9:29.
- The text leaves us with a lot of questions about what happened exactly with Noah and his sons at the end. It mirrors the fall in Genesis 3 in a number of ways. In particular it mirrors the idea of nakedness and covering of nakedness. Adam and Eve attempt to cover themselves after their sin, but God covers them with animal skin (the first death recorded in the Bible, a type of sacrifice for sin). Here we see two of Noah’s sons taking extra care in covering their father’s nakedness after his sin of drunkenness. Now read 1 Peter 4:8. What role do you play in “covering” the sins of others? Is there someone in particular that you need to love in this way? How?
